Professor Andrew McClurg holds the Herbert Herff Chair of Excellence in Law at The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. Some readers may know him through his scholarship and expertise in tort law, products liability, privacy law, and firearms policy. I’m not one of those folks (although I do cite to one of Andrew’s articles in a manuscript that is looking for a nice home [memo to student editors: CALL ME! PLEASE!!!!]). Most of us probably know Andrew through his keen sense of humor. My initial exposure to Andrew’s funny side was through his fifty-plus “Harmless Error” columns that appeared for over four years in the ABA Journal (memo to ABA: bring him back! bring him back!). Then I read Andrew’s book, The Law School Trip (The Insider’s Guide to Law School). Very funny indeed. Later, I came across Andrew’s web site devoted to … shall we say … the “less serious” side of the legal profession.
Andrew has just published his latest book, “1L of a Ride: A Well-Traveled Professor’s Roadmap to Success in the First Year of Law School.” A description and reviews are available here and here (and Andrew is blogging about his experience in writing the book here).
