The University of St. Thomas School of Law (Minnesota) is seeking applications from experienced faculty for tenured or tenure-track positions that will open in Fall 2012. Although the positions are not necessarily limited by subject matter, particular hiring needs may include civil procedure, criminal law, environmental law, evidence, intellectual property, and tax. The successful candidate is likely to have a substantial portfolio of nationally prominent scholarship and a record of excellent teaching as a tenured or tenure-track law professor.
In UST Law's brief en-year history, we have been able to hire tenured or chaired faculty from nationally regarded law schools such as Notre Dame, Minnesota, Illinois, Baylor, Pepperdine, and St. John’s. Fully accredited in the shortest time possible, the school occupies a new $35 million building in downtown Minneapolis that an ABA site evaluation team called "quite simply breathtaking." UST Law has raised more than $90 million to date (toward a goal of more than $135 million), allowing it to offer competitive salaries to faculty and staff, generous financial aid to students, and substantial loan repayment assistance to future graduates in public interest jobs. We are among the top 25 law schools in the nation in endowment per student. By various measures of scholarly accomplishment and prominence, our faculty consistently ranks in or near the top quarter of law schools in the country.
