The National LGBTQ+ Bar is expanding the Queer Legal Scholarship Symposium (QLSS)! This year, QLSS will be a full-day event held on July 13, 2026 in Chicago, IL as part of the Lavender Law® Career Fair & Conference. It will include not only scholarship presentations and the law professor caucus luncheon, but also opportunities for candidates intending to go the law teaching market to participate in a faculty screening interview moot and informal research agenda review. See below.
For anyone interested in presenting a paper, please submit this form by April 1. Priority will be given to prospective and junior academics.
For senior academics interested in commenting on papers or helping faculty candidates by participating in moots or reviewing research agendas, please email me at RNelson@stcl.edu. Priority will be given to anyone who couldn’t attend but for participating in these ways, so please note as much in your email.
Finally, registering for all of Lavender Law® costs $725 for non-member academics until April 1, but this year marks the first time that non-members can register for the one-day QLSS alone for just $250 if you’d prefer. Registration info can be found via the QLSS link above.
