I am sad to report that a much loved colleague of mine, Jennifer Rosato, will be departing Drexel Law to become dean of the law school at Northern Illinois University. This is good news for NIU, however - they are hiring a superb person to lead the law school. Jennifer taught at Brooklyn Law School for many years before joining Drexel Law's inaugural faculty. She has done interesting scholarly work in the areas of family law and bioethics and has also been very active in the AALS. She and I were among the first six inaugural faculty hired at Drexel and she served as our acting dean for the first year. Jennifer has been an amazing team player (on a remarkable team), absolutely tireless in her efforts to build the school, and we will miss her tremendously. Congratulations to both Jennifer and NIU.
As a reminder, our 2009 list of law dean searches is here. Our 2009 lateral moves list is here.
Jennifer! Many, many congratulations. NIU's really lucky to have you–and vice versa.
