Drexel Loses Its President

Drexel University President, Constantine (Taki) Papadakis died on Sunday. He was 63. Papadakis had been president of Drexel for 13 years. During that time, he built Drexel into a comprehensive research University by (among other things) adding a medical school and a law school to its portfolio. He also doubled University enrollment – leaving behind a robust 20,000 student institution.  At the same time, he grew the endowment by over $500 million (at least before the market collapse.)  He was a large, charismatic figure and he  utterly transformed Drexel University.   Drexel and the broader community will feel his loss.  Full story here.
