Hobby Lobby is a privately held chain of retail stores with a wide range of product departments, including crafts, picture framing, fashion fabrics, and home accents. The company operates over 400 stores in 33 states.
Beginning in 1997, Hobby Lobby began placing full-page messages in all of the newspapers in markets where it advertises. The messages appear on Christmas and Easter and are poignant and powerful. I look forward to the messages as I read the holiday editions of the local Houston Chronicle.
Pictured here is the message for Easter 2009, appearing in today’s newspapers.

I discovered Hobby Lobby about 2yrs ago. I knit and crochet and I was impressed by the wide variety of yarns, quality of materials and the price was reasonable for what you offered. I became a regular and have spent quite a bit of money by now on yarns at your store.. lately though I have been VERY disappointed.. My main concern is: I find a yarn I love to work with and it is being discontinued.. for example.. you are still offering Cameo Bulky – not in the wide variety of color choices.. Cameo is not longer on the shelf.. I loved the reg Cameo, because in the greater Phoenix Area of AZ we don't need bulky..
Regular was perfect!!! I have sent several e-mail before but my frustration has been ignored..
Yarn is all I buy.. I have 2jobs and knitting and crocheting is the only projects I have time for right now and I can do it while watching tv.
I only by soft yarn.. I mix and match fabrics and textures and if you ask Joanna at the Greenfield and 60 Store in Mesa, I make some pretty neat stuff..
Everytime I try to find more of a specific kind of yarn or color either because I loved it and I want to make something else using it or I need just one or 2 skeins more to finish a project and she has to tell me "its been discontinued" I get so upset..
Sometimes I wonder if the Hobby Lobby Yarn buyer knows how to knit and crochet and works with the materials before he/she decides to buy a product or to discontinue it?!?!?!
If you ever worked with the CAMEO yarns you would never take it off your shelfs again.. matter of fact you would bring it in as many colors as you can get it produced!!!!
I also love the RIOT EYELASH YARNS – some colors are still avail, only a few color choices are left..
Some of the new yarns you brought in or some of the yarns you left on the shelfs are not as soft as I like.. so for me the "joy of shopping at Hobby Lobby" if quickly slipping..
What started out as "Fun, lets see what we can find at Hobby Lobby today" trip has turned into events of frustration..
It says in your on line advertising that if you can't find what you're looking for ask your store representative to special order it..
Joanna tells me she can not special order whats no longer on the list of items!!! FALSE ADVERTISING ?!?!?
So unless you get it right.. you will not see me in your store as often as I used to..
