Jeffrey Kinsler, a former dean at Applalachian School of Law, has been named the inaugural dean of Belmont University College of Law, in Nashville, Tennessee. The law school plans to open its doors in the fall of 2011 and will be the state's sixth law school.
Kinsler is currently a professor at Elon University School of Law and has a served as a consultant on the Belmont start-up. He was a tenured law faculty member at Marquette before joining the Appalachian faculty in 2002. He received his JD from Valpo and his LLM from Yale. (If his resume from Elon is right, he was simultaneously a partner at Katten, Muchen and a prof at Marquette. Those tax types have all the fun!)
