Anyone else around here like pictures of old gas stations? Is it just me? I've collected some photographs of gas stations along US Route One in southern Virginia and northern North Carolina, so I thought I'd post a couple of the highlights.
The one in the upper right hand corner of this post is at the extreme southern end of route one in Virginia.
The one on the left is of a gas station in Norlina, North Carolina.
And here's another gas station — of somewhat more recent vintage than the one at the upper right corner, just inside the Virginia line above North Carolina on route one. The more recent one is just across a side street from the one on the upper right. 
Those are wonderful. I may start adding old service stations to my usual photographic subject-matter of old farm equipment, decaying sheds, and commercial signs.
