Oscar Countdown: Day 24

Reds Today's question:  Name the siblings who each have won an Oscar for their acting.

Pictured:  Reds (1981), which earned Warren Beatty the Oscar for Best Director.  His sister, Shirley MacLaine, won the Best Actress prize for Terms of Endearment (1983).

Jane and Peter Fonda come to mind, and possibly Olivia De Havilland and Joan Fontaine…. These are guesses. I have not checked.

I'm going with the Olsen twins.

    I'm "fonda" this question. HAHA!

Jane has won an Oscar. Her brother has been nominated but has not won.

The Redgraves? Vanessa has won, but sister Lynn (nominated twice) has not.

The Fiennes? Ralph has been nominated twice but has yet to win (should have won for SCHINDLER'S LIST). Brother Joseph has not been nominated.

Joan Fontaine was nominated three times, winning for SUSPICION. Sister Olivia de Havilland was nominated five times, winning twice (THE HEIRESS and TO EACH HIS OWN). The story at the link below discusses their relationship.

LOL! It's a "Feinnes" (assuming the "s" is silent) question.

    There is another:

Lionel Barrymore — Best Actor: 1931 A Free Soul

Ethel Barrymore — Best Supporting Actress: 1944 None But the Lonely Heart
