Most of us associate April 15 with the federal income tax.
But on April 15, 1947, an event occurred that the National Baseball Hall of Fame ranks at the top of its list of greatest opening day feats in the history of baseball. Jackie Robinson made his professional debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers, "becoming the first African American to play Major League
Baseball in the 20th century. Robinson went 0-for-3 in his debut but flawlessly handled 11 chances at first
base against the Boston Braves."
Dodgers executive Branch Rickey played a significant role in signing Robinson (and later as a Pirates executive was instrumental in signing MLB's first Hispanic superstar, Roberto Clemente).
Here's your question: From which university did Branch Rickey earn his law degree?
Pictured: Jackie Robinson, card #26 in the 2002 Fleer Greats of the Game set.

Although I did not know the answer to this off of the top of my head (I had to look it up, so I won't post it here), I will note that the Commissioner of baseball at the time, Happy Chandler, is an alum of the University of Kentucky College of Law.
I believe Branch Rickey was a graduate of the University of Michigan, but I don't recall if that was undergrad or law school.
Rickey attended Ohio Wesleyan University and later earned his law degree from the University of Michigan. "His legal career, however, proved short and unsuccessful. In 1912 St. Louis Browns owner Robert Hedges rescued Rickey from his failing Idaho law practice by offering him a position as his personal assistant." And the rest is history.
