On this date (and for the first time) in baseball history, a batter hit a home run off of a pitcher who had already won over three hundred games and repeated the feat the very next inning off of a different pitcher who also had already won over three hundred games.
Name the three players involved, all living Hall of Famers.
Tim — I'm pretty sure Rickey Henderson hit the homers (I vaguely recall this being one of his many accolades). As for the pitchers, I have no idea. Niekro (Phil) and Perry?
Steve, you correctly identified two of the parties (Henderson and Niekro). The other pitcher once pitched for my favorite team.
Tom Glavine?
oops, I just noticed the "already won" language – scratch Glavine.
If it's not Perry, then it would seem to have to be Seaver, Sutton, or Carlton. I think St. Louis is your favorite team, so I would go with Carlton, but I don't remember Niekro and Carlton ever being on the same team.
Yes, Carlton is correct. Older folks may remember that St. Louis traded the lefty to Philadelphia for Rick Wise. In this game, though, Niekro and Carlton were both playing for Cleveland. Here's the box score from the game:

Growing up in Atlanta, I loved Niekro.
From the boxscore, Carlton blew the save for Niekro, yet secured the win for himself. At the time, I think the two were the active leaders in total wins (with Sutton and Seaver lurking around there). I wonder if Carlton blew the save on purpose.
