Thrillers: 100 Must Reads

Thrillerrs Earlier this month, Oceanview Publishing released Thrillers:  100 Must Reads, co-edited by David Morrell and Hank Wagner.  The book examines 100 thrillers (beginning with a story penned in 1500 B.C., and concluding with a book published in 2003 that became one of the greatest bestsellers in recent history) through essay commentaries written by some of today's most popular writers in the genre (e.g., David Baldacci, Lee Child, Tess Gerritsen, Sandra Brown, Steve Berry, Gayle Lynds, etc.).  You'll find the complete list here (and a review here).  But before you take a peak, what books (or authors) might be on your list?  Me?  I'm a big fan of Harlan Coben.

Speaking of Harlan Coben, you might enjoy his self-described "scariest milestone."   I'm betting that several of our readers can relate!

I'm currently reading, and enjoying Hell Bent by William Tappley. (http://www.williamgtapply.com/hellbent.html) It's the last (at least the last published before Tappely died last year; I understand there's another one coming out) of a series about a Boston lawyer, Brady Coyne. Tappley was also a well-regarded author on fly-fishing, which is how I discovered him. Anyway, the book has some good lawyer-client interaction, and a few ethical issues, that make me think I might use it for "color" next time I teach PR.
