Kent Syverud (pictured), law dean at Washington University, has been named a trustee of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Trust, established to address claims arising from the recent disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. Syverud will be joined by co-trustee John Martin, a retired federal district judge (SDNY). Citigroup will serve as the corporate trustee. BP recently paid $3 billion into the fund and is scheduled to deposit an additional $2 billion in the fourth quarter, followed by quarterly payments of $1.25 billion until the aggregate payments equal $20 billion.
