There is sad news out of Harvard. Professor William Stuntz, who was known for both his work in the criminal law and his commitment to Christianity as a part of his professional life and identity. He blogged at Less Than The Least – and there told the story of his own battle with cancer. I particularly appreciated his nod to the act of living weak. A conference in celebration of Stuntz, held in March of 2010, is on video here.
The family's announcement of his passing is here.
His living weak post is very touching. RIP.
Though this was anticipated, I am so deeply saddened by this news. Bill was an inspiring classmate and scholar, a wonderful friend, and an extraordinary human being. His loss will be felt by all who knew him and by all who were lucky enough to have him as a teacher or colleague. I take comfort in knowing that his faith helped him through all of these difficult years and hope that that same faith will comfort his family.
Thank for this sad news, Dan. A lot of us have taken inspiration from his writing.
