Maryland Law Scores $30 Million Gift, New Name

University-maryland-law-building Big news in from Baltimore.  The University of Maryland School of Law announced, yesterday, that the W.P. Carey Foundation has donated $30 million to the institution.  The school will now be named The University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.  This is a big score for Dean Phoebe Haddon.

This is not the W.P. Carey Foundation's first naming gift.  It gave $50 million to Johns Hopkins to rename its business program the Carey Business School.  And it gave $50 million to Arizona State to rename its business program the W.P. Carey School of Business.
