My friend Mark Auslander of Central Washington University will be speaking at UNC Bookstore ("The Bull's Head") this Thursday on his new book, The Accidental Slavehowner, at 3:30 pm. You can read part of the book, by the way, now on books.google.
Also, I've already announced this, but on Friday November 3 in Raleigh there is a day-long program on Albion Tourgee. More details are here.
Also, here's an article from the Atlanta Journal Constitution about Mark's research.
Update as of November 1: Here's a picture of Mark talking at the Bull's Head Bookstore and a picture of the audience.
thank you!
