Taylor Branch on Violence and Nonviolence in History and Everyday Life

This evening at 7 pm at the Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black Culture and History here in Chapel Hill, Taylor Branch — Pulitzer Prize winning author (and 1968 UNC alumnus) — will be speaking on “Violence and Nonviolence in History and Everyday Life.”  Obviously this is of most immediate interest to Chapel Hillians, though I hope to attend and then write some about it.  I'm most interested in what Branch is thinking about the role of violence in the Civil Rights movement.
