Notre Dame Law School may have a permanent or visiting clinical faculty position that will begin in Fall 2013.
The current clinical faculty includes three full-time faculty members, each of whom works in a distinct civil practice area. The Clinic’s current practice areas include community development, consumer protection, housing, mental health and disability. Candidates are welcome to propose another practice area. Responsibilities will include training and supervising students as well as teaching the Clinic's integrated ethics and skills classroom components.
The Law School’s clinical programs are an integral part of the university's mission and learning environment. Through their work and teaching, students and faculty in the clinic integrate law practice and careful, sensitive engagement with moral, ethical, and religious questions.
Applicants with significant experience in civil litigation and prior clinical experience are preferred. Applicants must have a J.D. and be qualified for admission to practice in Indiana. Just out of curiosity, does the first sentence mean that the Law School is interested in hiring a person with experience or a demonstrated interest in teaching and writing in a broad range of subjects and courses– i.e. someone who writes in multiple fields? Or does it mean that ND might be interested in someone with experience or a demonstrated interest in teaching and writing in ANY ONE OF a broad range of subjects and courses?
The "broad range" idea might make sense for teaching but a call for candidates who write in a broad range of subjects is a little unusual.
The latter – any one of a broad range of subjects and courses.
