Loyola – Chicago Dean David Yellen was named by Cook County Presiding Judge Paul Biebel, to head up a search for prisoners incarcerated as a result of torture-induced confessions. Former Chicago cop Jon Burge and his "midnight crew" engaged perpetrated this torture as part of their crime solving strategy in major crimes. Burge is now doing a 4 1/2 year bid for the cover-up.
Yellen will be assisted by Loyola students and, presumably, lawyers representing inmate victims.
