Shall we start off May right — that is, with a trivia question? I went to what seemed like the end of the earth to get this photograph. This one's pretty difficult, I should imagine. I'm going to head back to this county sometime soon to get my hands on antebellum wills. Where is it and what is it?
It was the Wilcox Female Institute in Camden, Alabama, now home to the Wilcox Historical Society.
You are, of course, correct CM. Nicely done. I think that's one of the hardest trivia questions I've had. The building is beautiful — and it's in the same town as the Wilcox County Courthouse, which was a trivia question a few weeks back: http://www.thefacultylounge.org/2014/04/antebellum-courthouse-now-library-trivia.html
I can't take much credit. A google image search of "Female Institute rural" brought it up immediately.
Glad that google's so smart! It obviously has excellent taste.
