The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching two courses, one per semester. The spring semester course must be contracts while the fall semester course is subject to negotiation within the broad field of business law. The successful candidate will thus have ample time to focus on scholarship and be afforded access to the Law School’s library and related resources. Past Visiting Assistant Professors of Law at Villanova have found great success in legal academia.

I'll note that we do a reasonably good job of mentoring VAPs when we have them. In the past five years, our VAPs have gone on to get jobs at several different top 100 (and some top 50) schools.
What does "business law" mean? Would an employment law specialist qualify?
Thanks for your interest. That's not my area, but the contracts is the real dealbreaker. You can probably pitch an employment related class (that we don't have covered). I don't know if it would be a winner, but I wouldn't let it hold you back, either.
Are you accepting applications from folks who've done a VAP before? Given the difficult market in recent years, this might expand your pool and include candidates with more published work.
Does this suggest that the recently-announced process for hiring a tenure-track business law faculty member (for the entrepreneurship center) has been suspended for this year?
