One semester? Why don't they just ask for some adjuncts, or unpaid volunteers?

Those who exploit others are addicted to it. Yes, by all means, quit your job (three years experience required), pick up and move to take a one semester gig.

Not as bad as going into hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, one supposes.

Folks who have led privileged, sheltered lives just don't get it.

anon, you should educate yourself before making such ignorant comments. Visits such as these are intended primarily for current professors, who merely take a leave from their institution to visit at the "hiring" school. And it's hardly exploitive, visits allow current professors a great way to enhance their professional development, which in turn benefits their home institutions. The more you know . . .

"prior teaching experience is strongly preferred. "

I guess all those "current professors" (the intended pool) just don't necessarily have any teaching experience.

Or, the more logical explanation is that they're using that language to let you know that current professors are the intended pool.

Now, you speak of logical explanations?

Applicants are required to "possess a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, strong academic credentials, and at least three years of relevant law-related experience." And, perhaps, some teaching experience would be beneficial ("preferred" not required).

This advert should be understood to principally describe "current professors" seeking to "to enhance their professional development"?

This is a great example of a law prof, playing a weak hand, name calling and sliming and spitting in a very condescending fashion all the while.

    Par for the course.

The advert calls for "Our specific needs for the Fall 2017 semester include BASIC income tax and corporate tax, criminal law, and professional responsibility" …

I can teach this gig. Pretty simple. 1. Criminal Law—I have years of experience representing three bill retail thefts and suspended license matters. 2, Ethics: Simple. Don't steal from or sleep with your client and don't blow off their case. 3. Tax—Simple too. Hire Donald Trump's accountant.

    "Hire Donald Trump's accountant".
Yes indeed, my friend, this is key. Its not what you earn…its what you keep!
