The University of Iowa has announced that Kevin Washburn will be its new dean, starting the summer. Washburn joins Iowa from the University of New Mexico, where he served as dean from 2009-12. He served in the Obama Administration as the Assistant Secretary of the Interior in charge of the Bureau of Indian Affairs from 2012-16. He holds a JD from Yale.
