Richard Wirtz has passed on January 3, 2019. He was dean of the University of Tennessee from 1991 to 1998. He was graduated from Amherst, Princeton University, and Standford Law School.

I heard this from a classmate recently – sad – he was a nice and personable guy. I never took a class with him but he remembered my name anyway.
