David Western Named Dean of Appalachian Law

Colonel David “D.J.” Western has been named dean of Appalachian Law.  He joined the law school in 2002 and served as Dean of Students.  He has been interim dean since September 2023.  Western, who holds a JD from  Lewis & Clark and an LL.M. from George Washington University, will assume the role on July 1.
