Call for Proposals
What: 2026 National Aging & Law Conference
Theme: The Right to Age Well: Advancing Law, Equity, and Human Dignity
Date: October 9-10, 2026
Where: Syracuse University College of Law, Syracuse, New York
Submission deadline: June 15, 2026, by 5:00 pm ET
Submissions will be accepted via this online portal. If you encounter issues submitting your proposal, please contact the Commission at aging@americanbar.org. Submissions will not be accepted by e-mail.
Session and Speaker Requirements:
- All proposals must include at least two speakers, unless applying for a rapid-fire session. Rapid-fire is a great place to feature highlights of ongoing initiatives or research.
- All proposals must include at least one licensed attorney in good standing as a speaker.
- All speakers will be required to register and pay for conference attendance.
- We are unable to reimburse speakers for travel expenses.
- If your session is selected, speakers will be required to provide substantive written materials in compliance with continuing legal education requirements and sign an ABA speaker release form.

You cannot save your progress in the online portal. So, please prepare the required information in advance.
Online Proposal Submission Required Information:
Below are the prompts required to submit a proposal through the online portal.
- Session Information
- Session title (100 characters or less, including spaces)
- Session type (60-minute, 90-minute plenary, rapid-fire)
- Who is your target audience?
- Brief session description (400 characters or less, including spaces)
- Long session description (1500 characters or less, including spaces)
- 3-5 Learning objectives
- Why is this session important now?
- Why is this group of panelists the best choice to present on this topic?
- Which learning/presentation techniques will be used during the session? (case examples, large group/audience discussion, small group discussion, other)
- Would your session count for ethics credit under CLE guidelines?
- Please list any special accommodation you or your co-presenters will need (interpreters, accessibility, etc.).
