His stepping down strongly suggests that he did not get renewed. If that is true, it seems a pattern of top law schools hiring POCs in the George Floyd moment to be deans but then not supporting them. Shame on NYU if that’s the case. The gentleman’s way of doing it would be to tell him that he will get renewed but that if he doesn’t step down a year after he will get fired.
