Hiring Announcement: Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law (faculty positions)

Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law seeks candidates for three full-time, tenure-track faculty positions beginning in the 2027–2028 academic year. We have particular interest in Contracts, Sales, Secured Transactions, Property, Evidence, Criminal Law, and Criminal Procedure, although candidates with other teaching interests are encouraged to apply. Both entry-level and qualified lateral candidates will be considered.

ONU Law is a close-knit, student-centered community with small classes and a longstanding commitment to preparing practice-ready lawyers. Our educational mission emphasizes individualized faculty mentoring, experiential learning through clinical and externship opportunities, and excellence in teaching. ONU Law also offers one of the nation’s first fully online, part-time J.D. programs accredited by the ABA.

Candidates must hold a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school or equivalent degree and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship. Experience in legal practice, judicial clerkships, or law teaching is preferred.

Ohio Northern University was founded in 1871, and ONU Law has been educating lawyers since 1885. Ohio Northern is located in Ada, Ohio, a quiet college community known for its small-town charm, about an hour from the growing Columbus metro area, and is home to five colleges and about 3,140 students representing 50 states and 15 countries.
