The University of Massachusetts School of Law – Dartmouth invites applications for the position of Assistant Teaching Professor and Director of Bar Success. The Director’s responsibilities will include: designing, implementing, and managing the Bar Success Program; teaching bar preparation courses; monitoring bar takers’ progress throughout the year and over the summer; supervising the Assistant Director for Bar Success; managing the program budget; selecting and overseeing external Bar Success tutors; developing and implementing a summer bar preparation program; and other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will hold the rank of Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor, depending on experience. Assistant Teaching Professors are eligible for promotion to Associate and Full Teaching Professor and may earn continuous appointment. The position will begin July 1, 2027. This is a twelve-month position; applicants must be available to teach in the day and evening divisions as needed.
Minimum qualifications: Applicants must have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; strong academic credentials; familiarity with the Uniform Bar Exam, the NextGen Bar Exam, and other jurisdiction-specific requirements for licensure; at least two years of experience in law practice or teaching; and prior bar or academic success experience.
Preferred qualifications: Experience with curriculum design, assessment, and data collection.
