Half of Britons surveyed report being injured while eating biscuits. Risks include such varied hazards as scalding from hot tea or coffee while dunking, breaking a tooth, injury from flying fragments, people poking themselves in the eye with a biscuit, falling off a chair reaching for the tin, choking on crumbs, and being bitten by a pet or "other wild animal" trying to get their biscuit. Custard creams, with a risk rating of 5.63, are the most dangerous biscuit, while Jaffa cakes, at 1.16, are the safest.
Kim – truly frightening statistics!
I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles.
Yes, we happen to be biscuit eaters in our house, but may have to shift to a less risky activity now.
This is not an exhaustive list of the risks, which include paranormal biscuit phenomena: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ik7IzBHWxD8.
Not coincidentally, the indicate link shows why Jaffa cakes — not true biscuits — are safest.
That is great, Ed! Too funny. For some reason I couldn't get the video to load automatically from that link, without cutting and pasting into the browser. If others have that problem then try this link instead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ik7IzBHWxD8
