You have to hand it to the operators of Love Stuff, in Hoover, Alabama. They don't give up easily in their quest to sell dildos and other devices "designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital organs." The legislature in Montgomery, Alabama has long been opposed to the sale of such items and has explicitly proscribed it. The City of Hoover – a modern shopping mall suburb that was my hometown for two and a half years – has targeted Love Stuff as a threat to Hoover's upscale shopping persona. (Point of trivia: did you know that the Birmingham Metropolital Statistical Area was actually renamed the Birmingham-Hoover MSA because Hoover is such a job center?)
Through all of this, the Love Stuff crew kept selling their gear – but only to customers who sign a form saying their purchase complies with state law. The Alabama Supreme Court told them to quit-it back in September but Love Stuff sought reconsideration. The Alabama Supremes have now fully reconsidered the matter and reaffirmed their prior position: the ban on sale of sex toys is consititutional.
I guess people will either have to order by mail or satisfy themselves with a massager from the Rite Aid. Their devices (presumably) have a multiplicity of uses!
As mentioned in your article, Love Stuff can continue to accept offers to purchase items as long as the purchaser is doing it for one of the basis under Alabama Law. The sale of marital aids (devices) in Alabama will not be going away anytime soon, I think.
Your should be able to buy a dildo wherever you want!
well should consider in buying online instead buying through stores?
I agree with that idea of buying online is the best chose they can make.
Did the affirmative Alabama Supremes vote against themselves? Was this brought up in any of the descents. Well it's possible they don't all qualify. They couldn't recuse themselves because they wouldn't know, would they? I mean, how honest can a lawyer of high achievement lawyer be? Did anybody do a poll on the Alabama Legislature about conflict of interest? What about Texas and mississippi? What about THE Supremes? Too deep for me.
