More Musical Trivia

Despite the fact that my broadway trivia is no match for the readers of this blog, I'm going to try again.  So here it is ….

What broadway musical from the 1950s was based on the music of a famous 19th century composer?  Name the musical and the composer.

    There is also "Carmen Jones" based on Georges Bizet's "Carmen." It was a 1954 film, and a 1943 Broadway musical. Close, but not exactly the answer 🙂
