What musical film's cast includes three actors who later went on to star in sci-fi/fantasy TV series?
Name the film, the actors, and the TV series.
Is this a musical (e.g. Grease) or a musical film (e.g. La Bamba)? And I assume that the actors aren't necessarily in the same sci fi/fantasy series, correct?
Sorry for any confusion, Jeff. It's a film version of a musical eg like the film version of Grease.
And the actors are all in different TV series. So the answers involve three different actors and three different TV series.

And I should say it's a pretty well known musical film – it's not an obscure trick question.

I have to say that's a great answer – it wasn't the one I was thinking of. The TV series I am thinking of are a little older than those. But I didn't think of All That Jazz. In fact, I didn't even remember that Jon Lithgow was in All That Jazz. (Oh, and was that movie derived from a broadway show? I can't remember.)
It wasn't directly derived from a broadway show, but it was dervied from Fosse's 1975 staging of "Chicago" while editing "Lenny." Of course, it is probably also questionable whether "All That Jazz" is pretty well known, but it's one of my favorite musicals.
Well, I might officially discount it for not being "well known" and not being a movie adaptation of an actual broadway show. However, I still think it's a great answer.
And in case anyone else is still working on this question, here's another clue. The three actors in question all play closely related characters in the movie ie in terms of close family relationships.
