With thanks to one of my colleagues for pointing this out to me yesterday, according to a recent article in the N.Y. Times, Yale Law School is dealing with stressed out students by offering the services of a "therapy dog" that students can check out from the library for periods of time to counteract stress. I'm told that my own school could not follow suit because we have a policy against dogs on campus. Maybe we should just offer relaxation tapes or yoga classes?
I am sure that I am not the only one to find it ironic that the dog is not a bulldog.
Jacqueline, is there any word on how the dog is coping with this set of duties – sounds stressful ๐
Would this not just beg students to use the old "the dog ate my homework" excuse? My bad?
