Some time back I posted a picture of the Birmingham Jail. Here's another jail. It's no longer in use. As I recall it goes back to the pre-Civil War era.
Where is it? This is rather difficult; if you want some help, ask Brad; I think he used to live near it.
It's the Spotsylvania County Jail in Spotsylvania, Virginia. Robert E. Lee made his headquarters adjacent to the jail the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House in 1864, which claimed over 30,000 lives.
