Call for Papers and/or Presentations
In a moment defined by intensifying immigration enforcement, immigrant communities and their allies continue to resist through a diverse range of strategies. This conference offers a space to explore what resistance looks like today at this heightened moment of immigration enforcement, from strategic litigation and grassroots organizing to media advocacy, lay support networks, innovative legal and non-legal theories, legislative responses, and the sustaining power of joy.
We welcome proposals for papers or presentations from activists, advocates, scholars, artists, and community members, especially proposals that emphasize collaboration, center directly impacted voices and offer insights into solidarity and power in movement work. We are particularly interested in submissions that may fit one or more of the following potential panels for the conference.
- The Limits and Power of Litigation
- Organizing in Risky Times
- Joy as Resistance
- Media, Messaging, and Movement Work
- What Allyship and Collective Action Looks Like
