In a split 4 to 3 vote, the UT regents authorized an external review of the flow of fund-raised money through the University of Texas Law Foundation. Board members were continuing to react to the revelation over a year ago that the Foundation provided forgivable loans to law faculty. Opponents of the review argue that it is part of a broader effort to oust UT President, and former law dean, Bill Powers.

Not surprised this is still an issue, the facts that came out over Larry Sager's use of the foundation funds left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths. What I'm curious about is how the fund was advertised to donors all these years, and whether the donors would have been liable they've raised a lot of money and I wonder if they would have done so if they'd known how much was being thrown at already-generously-compensated law professors.
