Director of Regulatory Compliance
Overview:
Loyola University Chicago School of Law is conducting a search for a Director of Regulatory Compliance Studies, a three-year, non-tenure track, renewable contract position within the Department of Graduate and Online Learning.
Job Responsibilities:
The Director of Regulatory Compliance Studies will oversee all compliance initiatives conducted for both online and campus students. Key responsibilities of this position include the following:
- Teach online and campus compliance courses.
- Organize the collection of courses for the compliance concentration; spearhead review of existing courses and detail additional topics and new offerings.
- Develop new and expanded compliance course offerings.
- Represent Loyola at professional meetings, including securing speaking opportunities at national conferences attended by compliance professionals and those seeking entry into the profession.
- Conduct outreach to the compliance industry across fields (corporate, health law, life sciences, privacy) through involvement in industry trade groups, offering online courses devoted to this industry.
- Serve as Faculty Advisor to the student edited Journal of Regulatory Compliance, which publishes two issues a year and maintains an online blog.
- Develop annual compliance symposium event.
- Author and publish articles in the academic, professional association and trade literature on compliance-related topics.
- Provide career counseling to online and campus students interested in compliance careers.
- Counsel students on the compliance certification process.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience:
JD degree and legal practice experience required. Candidate must have extensive work experience in the corporate or health care compliance field and experience teaching courses on compliance topics in an academic setting.
Job Requirements:
This position requires a legal expert in the field of corporate, health care/life sciences, or privacy compliance. Successful candidates must have significant experience practicing law in the compliance field and possess wide industry knowledge. Candidates must be familiar with and have relationships with organizations and individuals within the compliance industry. This position requires the management and oversight of a robust and cohesive compliance curriculum.
